If you are planning on obtaining a
Spanish driving licence we would be glad to help! However,
doing it yourself may also be an option if you are already
in Spain. Here is some information to get you started.
Driving licenses are valid for 10 years.
Driving licenses for people over 65 are valid for: ◾5 years - category A ◾5 years - category B
If you have a driving license valid indefinitely issued in another EU country
will have to exchange your driving license within 2 months
from your registration as a resident in Spain. You'll have to exchange your license within 6 months from obtaining your
residence card in Spain.
To redeem your license from outside the EU
you should: 1.contact with the Provincial Traffic in your province and 2.aportar the following documents: ◾ Official application form
◾ Proof of identity and residence: National Identity Card or
Passport;
Residence permit or identity card or passport of your
country, together with the Certificate of Registration in
the Central Register of Foreigners for EU foreigners;
Residence Permit for non-EU foreigners. Valid residence card. ◾ medical
fitness report. You get in a center of recognition of drivers, and the center sends it
electronically to the Provincial Traffic Headquarters. ◾ Driving license: original and photocopy force ◾ updated Color Photography 32mm x26 mm ◾ completed and signed photo (provided on the Traffic Headquarters) ◾ Written declaration has not been banned by a court decision the right to
drive motor vehicles and mopeds or subjected to intervention
or suspension owned. ◾ Written declaration of not being the holder of another driving permit or
license, whether issued in Spain or in another EU country,
the same class as requested.
If you have a driving licence
issued from another EU country and was
obtained by exchange, you can use it in Spain.
